DEIS and Attendance

16-October-25

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Trinity Comprehensive has a plan to improve our school. This is called the DEIS Plan . DEIS stands for Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Education in Schools and we are one of the two hundred secondary schools in Ireland who receive extra government support to improve our school.

Last year we shared our plan for improved attendance with you and we will continue to do this in the coming year. We would like to welcome the parents of our new First Years and thank you for your support.

Developing a good attendance habit is so important for our student’s wellbeing and success . We want to work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.

A key part of working together is ensuring that you have:

  • Downloaded the school app, Compass
  • Turned on notifications

This allows you to check that your child is in school and they are on time.

Please notify us on the school’s app if your child is ill or has an appointment.

You will be sent a direct notification through the school’s app if your child is absent or late to school. This helps the school and parents support each student’s attendance.

If attendance is becoming difficult for your child please notify the school.

Many Thanks

School Improvement/DEIS team
